Remixes are a real fun way to not only enjoy the music that I’ve heard by my friends on rym (and atease) but to see what tools and process they used and to take an active role in changing what they’ve done into making it into something else. I’ve done a fair amount of remixes of my rym friend’s as full releases in last 3 months but I wanted to work my way to having a full compilation cd with 1 track per artist as it’s own release. Some of these are from previous collaboration releases, many are remixes which I’ve just completed in the last couple of weeks, but all have been part of a very fun project to not only highlight my friend’s music but also to do some fun things with them and cover some new genre styles (witch house, chopped & screwed, industrial, glitch, and hip hop) as well. Obviously I tried very hard to fit on who i could cram on a 78 minute cd. I’m hoping people enjoy listening as I did making it and check out their fellow label free artists who i listen to and who also have often been nice enough to return the favor.
